Works currently underway along the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee’s managed coastline include:

• Lorne Historic Pier temporary closure
  We are awaiting the outcome of a recent engineers inspection and have temporarily closed the Lorne Historic Pier as a precaution to ensure public safety. The temporary closure will be in place until we can carry out recommended repairs.
• Surf Coast Walk reroute at Aireys Inlet
  Following a cliff stability and risk assessment of GORCC’s managed coastline, we have temporarily closed a section of the Surf Coast Walk in Aireys Inlet (opposite Alice Rd) due to the risk of cliff collapse. We have rerouted this section of the walk and are investigating an alternative route as a long-term solution for the Surf Coast Walk. We are also working with traffic engineers to ensure suitable safety measures are in place on Eagle Rock Parade, as a short section of the reroute will now be on the road.
• Spout Creek car park closure
  Due to erosion at the last (Southern) Spout Creek car park, we have had to close the car park and ramp. We are currently investigating the safety of the car park and seeking geotechnical advice before we reopen it to the public.
• Point Roadknight drainage works
  We are working with Surf Coast Shire to address a complex drainage issue causing ongoing flooding at Point Roadknight. See Surf Coast Shire’s website for further details.
