Clean up Australia Day

Each year, Surf Coast locals and visitors alike are being encouraged to make a difference to the local environment by registering as a volunteer for the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee’s Clean Up Australia Day sites.
On Sunday 4th March 2012 volunteers will again hit the coast to preserve and protect our environment .
The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee has registered the Jan Juc foreshore area as an official cleanup site:
When: 4th March 2012.
Where: Jan Juc,
Meet: Bird Rock Car Park
Clean up area: the foreshore, including the beach, dunes and trails.
Time: 10am – 12pm
Site supervisors will be in attendance and all equipment is provided.

In 2011 more than 25 bags of rubbish were collected over 2 hours in a wonderful effort by enthusiastic and community minded individuals of all ages, and we want to top it this year.
Clean Up Australia Day is the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and help clean up our local parks and waterways and think about how we can reduce our impact on the environment.
