Have your say in the future of our coast

Opportunities for input into the development of the Coastal Management Plan.

The Coastal Management Plan (CMP) will be developed via an open and collaborative process that involves all key stakeholders, including the wider community.

Opportunities for input into the Draft CMP

The period for input into the Draft CMP has now ended. All the workshops (Workshop A) for this consultation phase have been completed and the survey (Survey A) has now closed.

Results from the workshops and the surveys are currently being collated and the report will be available for viewing in late February 2012.

Opportunities to comment on the Draft CMP

Opportunities to attend a second round of workshops (Workshop B) and/or fill out a second survey (Survey B) will be available in April 2012 to gain your feedback on the Draft Plan.

Would you like to view a copy of the consultation report, the Draft CMP or be notified of opportunities for input?

Simply sign up to receive the CMP Bulletin (see links to the right of this page) or check this website regularly for news and updates.

There are two key phases where you can have input into the development of the plan:

  • Input into the development of the Draft Plan (Nov 2011 – Jan 2012).

  • Feedback on the Draft Plan (April 2012).

How will my input be used?

Input into the development of the Draft Plan will:

  • Help us to understand what you value about the GORCC Coast and how we should manage it.

  • Be collated with the other findings, (E.g. the results of research into relevant policies, strategies and reports).

  • Be put through a formal and thorough assessment process (along with all other findings) to evaluate every potential action against a set of criteria to ensure the best outcomes for the coast and the community.

Feedback on the Draft Plan will be used to create a final version of the document.

 The Community Reference Group

A Community Reference Group has also been established.

Members include a wide range of coastal users with varying connections to the coast, and comprises both representatives from key community groups and the general public. The Group will provide input and feedback throughout the development of the plan.
