Progress report 26 August 2010
- The new look-out platform has been completed and is re-opened and accessible.
- Work has started on upgrading the access track and will be completed soon (subject to weather conditions).

Progress report 28 July 2010
- The Split Point look-out overlooking Eagle Rock will be closed from Monday 2 August 2010 to enable construction to start on the new look-out.
Progress report 6 July 2010
- The contract to construct the new look-out has been awarded with work due to commence in July-August.
- The new steel-framed, timber-decked platform will be cantilevered and use footings set back five metres from the cliff edge, although the platform itself will extend to the edge. This design addresses concerns about the cliff’s long-term stability.
- During the works period, particularly in August, the look-out will be closed. Other adjacent look-outs will however remain open apart from a few critical days.
Progress report 30 March 2010
- The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) has granted consent for the works under the Coastal Management Act.
- Engineering drawings have been finalised.
- Quotations for the works are currently being sought.
