Great Ocean Road Renewal Program

About this page

three-year, $1.35 million program which seeks to address four of the biggest coastal issues identified in our 2007 Environment and Land Management Plan.

The Great Ocean Road Renewal Program seeks to address four of the biggest coastal issues identified in our 2007 Environment and Land Management Plan: environmental weeds, conservation and celebration of Aboriginal cultural heritage, climate change impacts and increasing demand for coastal recreation facilities.

The overall project is a three-year, $1.35 million program, which will deliver four discrete projects - each critically important in their own right - supported by funding from the Australian Government.

The four areas of focus will be:

  • A Natural Values Project
  • A Cultural Values Project
  • Surf Coast Coastal Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Project
  • Community and Tourism Facilities Project
