Great Ocean Road Coast wants everyone to be able to enjoy the wonderful coastline and reminds users to to be mindful of other visitor’s enjoyment of the coast, particularly with large groups.

Permits are required for gatherings of more than 20 people to help manage event scheduling, parking, user safety, public access and rubbish along the coast.

Please note: The use of a structures such as gazeebos or marquees must have a permit before they are erected on Crown land reserves to ensure everyone is able to access and enjoy public areas safely.

Beach umbrellas or small beach shelters are allowed on beaches providing they have a secure anchoring device or weight of greater than 5kg to secure them.

We also encourage users to obey Surf Coast Shire glass and smoke-free regulations. Please ensure that all rubbish is disposed of in a general waste or recycle bin or taken home with you, leave only footprints.
