International Day for Biological Diversity The United Nations proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. More information available here.
 23 May  World Turtle Day  World Turtle Day is an annual opportunity to reflect on the myriad of threats facing turtles and tortoises and what we can do to protect them. More information can be found at The Humane Society of the United States.
 5 June  World Environment Day  Coordinated through United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and action.  More information can be found here.
 5 June National Whale Day  National Whale Day was launched in 2008 by as a day for all Australians to celebrate their love of whales, as well as draw attention to some of the threats they face today, which include whaling, climate change, ship strikes, marine debris and ocean noise.  For Information about the Event, visit the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) website.

22-28 August Keep Australia Beautiful Week This year's focus is on increasing recycling in public places to help reduce landfill waste and enable the reuse of valuable resources. Visit the official website for more information.

7 September National Threatened Species Day   National Threatened Species Day (NTSD) is held on 7 September each year - commemorating the death of the last Tasmanian tiger at Hobart Zoo in 1936.
11 September  Sustainable House Day   The tenth annual Sustainable House Day on Sunday 11 September will be a huge day. Showcasing some of Australia’s most environmentally sustainable homes to the public as millions of Australians continue to embrace renewable energy, recycling and other practices designed to lessen our impact on the environment.
11 September  National Bilby Day National Bilby Day is run by the Save the Bilby Fund
 16 September  International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. On 19 December 1994, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date, in 1987, on which the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was signed.
