Information about the proposed upgrade of the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park.
Planning work has progressed throughout 2008 for the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park upgrade. Over the last few months, GORCC has been considering improvements to the masterplan for the five camping grounds in Lorne - Erskine River, Kia Ora, Queens Park, Ocean Road and Top Bank. Many issues were raised during the consultation process, which was held earlier in 2008, and many of these issues have now been incorporated into the revised masterplan.
A reference group comprising several campers who are regular users of the caravan park has been working with us to help improve the masterplan. The group has met with GORCC several times and provided valuable input and insights.
While the committee recently gave in-principle approval for the masterplan, there are three critical steps that need to be undertaken before details about the park upgrade can be finalised. These are outlined in a letter to campers.
At this stage, GORCC is aiming to have the planning phase and all three steps completed by April 2009, at which time more information about the upgrade and implementation arrangements will be available. Stay tuned!
