About our caravan parks
About this page
Find out why our caravan parks in Lorne and Torquay are so important to looking after the coast.
Situated in fantastic locations, the Lorne and Torquay Foreshore Caravan Parks offer a range of accommodation options for families, tourists and visitors, and contribute around 80 per cent of the money we spend each year on caring for the coast.
Both are within walking distance to the townships of Lorne or Torquay, and to beautiful beaches and natural environs.
We also lease the Anglesea Beachfront Family Caravan Park and the Cumberland River Holiday Park to private operators.
All proceeds from our caravan park operations are invested in a range of coastal management activities and caravan park improvements.
As our caravan parks are situated on Crown land foreshore reserves, they are subject to a range of State Government policies and regulations concerning their management and ongoing development.
The Victorian Coastal Strategy outlines a series of policies and actions pertaining to caravan parks and camping grounds on Crown land while a report prepared by the Caravan and Camping Parks on Coastal Crown Land Reference Group highlights a number of recommendations that are relevant to our caravan parks.
