About this page

The public land coastal reserves managed by GORCC extend from Point Impossible to Cumberland River within the boundaries of the Surf Coast Shire.

GORCC manages 37 kilometres of this coastline, with other extensive areas of coastline now part of the new Great Otway National Park managed by Parks Victoria. Smaller coastal areas also managed by Surf Coast Shire.

The map above highlights in red the areas we manage. More detailed descriptions are included below.

In the Torquay region, GORCC manages 11km of coastal reserves from Point Impossible to Whites Beach to Fishermans Beach - Torquay Front & Surf Beaches - Jan Juc - Bones Road (just before Bells Beach Recreation Reserve). GORCC also manages Taylor Park.

 

In the Anglesea region, GORCC manages 5km of coastal reserves from the end of Purnell Street - mouth of Anglesea River - Point Roadknight - Donoghues Road.

 

In the Aireys Inlet and Fairhaven region, GORCC manages 13km of coastal reserves from Boundary Road (near Sunneymede beach) - Split Point Lighthouse - Painkalac Creek - Fairhaven - Moggs Creek - Eastern View - Spout Creek. Surf Coast Shire manages the lighthouse, and some areas around Eagle Rock Parade and Painkalac Creek.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the Lorne region, GORCC manages 8km of coastal reserves from North Lorne - Erskine River - Point Grey - St Georges River. GORCC also manages Queens Park and Cumberland River.
