The staff at GORCC are a professional team dedicated to managing the coast and caravan parks.

Chief Executive Officer

David Clarke is GORCC's Chief Executive Officer and commenced in October 2005. He leads and is responsible for all aspects of the organisation's operations, under the direction of the Committee.

David is a skilled project manager, strategic planner, communicator and facilitator. He has an extensive background in working with communities on a range of industry, environment and planning projects. Prior to joining GORCC David worked as a self employed consultant for eight years.

David enjoys surfing, mountain biking and soccer. 

Coastal Reserves Manager

Rod Goring is the Coastal Reserves Manager and is responsible for all of GORCC's coastal management responsibilities, activities and projects . He joined the previous Torquay Foreshore Committee of Management in 1994. Rod has extensive experience in all aspects of coastal management, and Rod started his working life in the automotive industry, however after completing an apprenticeship, his passion for the environment and outdoors led him to complete another trade in horticulture. Rod has a
number of years experience in parks and reserves, including 20 years with local government.

Rod has an appreciation of his community, and enjoys and appreciates all aspects of coastal life on the Great Ocean Road Coast. 

Commercial Business Manager

Richard Davies joined GORCC in August 2008 in the new position of Commercial Business Manager. This position leads all GORCC's business operations, including the Torquay and Lorne Caravan Parks, and various leases and licences. These operations generate the funds necessary to manage the coast.

Finance Manager

Steve Major is the Finance Manager. He joined the previous Lorne Foreshore Committee of Management in 1999. Steve is a qualified Accountant with over 15 years experience in financial management. Steve has been part of the local community for more than 10 years and is a keen surfer.

Coastal Project Coordinator

Mike Bodsworth was appointed as Coastal Project Officer in October 2006. Mike is a landscape architect and recreation planner with ten years experience in natural area recreation and landscape planning. Most recently he worked in Western Australia as Senior Landscape Architect with the Department of Conservation and Land Management. Whilst in WA, Mike undertook project work in addition to supervising a small team engaged in planning, designing and implementing recreation and interpretation facilities in eight regional parks around Perth. Three of these parks included large coastal conservation and recreation reserves. Mike grew up on the Bellarine Peninsula and has a strong connection to the Surf Coast.

Communications Coordinator

Gail Chrisfield joined GORCC in August 2008 in the new position of Communications Coordinator. This position leads all GORCC's communication and engagement activities. Gail has extensive communication experience with state and local government and the corporate sector, will also be focused on providing opportunities for people to be involved in looking after the coast.

Office Coordinator / Finance Officer

Carmel and Daphne share this role helping to make the GORCC office work and providing support to the management team.

Other Staff

GORCC has dedicated staff in Torquay and Lorne who help to manage the coastal reserves and caravan parks.
