Who are we?

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee is appointed by the Victorian Government under the Crown Land Reserves Act to manage foreshore reserves along the Great Ocean Road.

Why does the coast need managing?

Coastal photoThe dramatic and lovely Great Ocean Road coast is now the most visited part of Victoria. This puts pressure on the coastal environment. GORCC manages a large range of facilities and activities along the coast. More

What coast do we look after?

We manage 37 km of coastal reserves between Torquay and Lorne, along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. We also manage the Torquay and Lorne Foreshore Caravan Parks.

Have your say on the Western Victoria Boating Coastal Action Plan
The Western Coastal Board is hosting a series of consultation sessions as part of developing the Western Victoria Boating Coastal Action Plan, including one in Torquay on Monday 17 November 2008 from 6pm to 8pm.

This year's breeding season is now underway. GORCC is working with Birds Australia and other partners to protect the Surf Coast's only known regular Hooded Plover breeding site at Point Roadknight.

Nominations for 2009 Victorian Coastal Awards for Excellence now open
The Victorian Coastal Council and Coast Action/ Coastcare are calling for nominations for next year's awards. Nominations close 5pm, Friday 12 December 2008.

Premiers Sustainability Award
GORCC has won the 2008 Premiers Sustainability Award, presented by Premier John Brumby.
