Our people
About this page
Meet the people who make up our organisation.
Our people all have one thing in common - they all share a passion for our coast and its future.
For our 12 voluntary commitee members, this passion has initially led them to nominate for committee positions through a public Expression of Interest process. Following their appointment by the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, committee members contribute their time, passion, skills and experience to looking after the coast. Appointed for a three-year term, the committee meets regularly to oversee and contribute to our work.
Our dedicated and professional staff team comprises some 27 permanent employees working in our management and administration, caravan parks and coastal reserves areas:
- seven management and administration staff members work from our office in Bell Street, Torquay, to deliver the committee's strategic directions and decisions, manage the organisation's day-to-day operations and support the committee in fulfilling its role and responsibilities
- our caravan park employees are responsible for running our caravan parks in Torquay and Lorne, and
- our coastal reserves crew works outside on maintaining the Great Ocean Road coast, including various coastal facilities, assets and infrastructure.
In addition, we are very fortunate to be able to work with a broad range of partners including community groups and volunteers, who provide invaluable support for many of our coastal management initiatives and play an important role in looking after the coast.
